What does accessibility look like at your events?

We prioritize physical access, sensory-friendly spaces, and digital inclusion. Each event listing includes specific accessibility notes regarding venue features and support available.

Who can participate in Caged Bird, Rise events?

Our events are primarily designed for and by disabled people in the Caribbean, but we welcome all who are committed to disability justice and community-led change.

What is 'Community Care' in this context?

It means we move together with dignity and interdependence. We look out for one another's needs, respect boundaries, and ensure no one is left behind.

Is there a cost to attend these events?

Most of our community gatherings are free or offered on a sliding scale to remain accessible. We will always list the financial details clearly for every session.

How do you handle conflict at events?

We use transformative conflict resolution tools. We prioritize dignity and mediation to address harm while maintaining the safety of our community spaces.

What if I need to request accommodations?

We aim to be as accessible as possible. This means acknowledging people's accommodation needs and figuring it out! We believe in the importance of rich collaboration to ensure all people's needs are met as much as possible.
